Roxana Schageman
Originally from Transylvania, Romania, I moved to Austin 22 years ago to engage the fashion community and develop my skills as a premier hairstylist. I received my training from Vidal Sassoon San Francisco, The Aveda Institute, Paul Mitchell Austin and many other classes taught by prestigious artists. I offer an array of customized hair services. I specialize in precision haircutting, curly hair and special occasion upstyles. Throughout my career I participated in local fashion shows and editorial photoshoots - Former Miss Texas for Formula One and ESPN, Tribeza, ACL, to name a few. In 2018 I ventured out on my own and opened my very first, Austin based, hair studio, ROX ATELIER. It was a learning, exciting, vivid and humbling experience.
During this amazing time we hosted a few fashion events that featured us and other local fashion designers and our last one was featured in TRIBEZA magazine, in December of 2019. I sold the studio in 2020 and chose to keep my family and my community safe and cared for during the pandemic. I am presently attending the Professional Photography program at Austin Community college while working behind the chair at Mane 3 Hair Studio.
“Simplicity is complexity resolved” by Constanin Brancusi, is my mantra for creating photographs or any type of art that I produce. I favor the shadows over the highlights because the shadows create natural angles that reveal the most important aspects of a subject while it creates inquisitiveness of the world unseen. Through my work I will make emotions palpable because I strongly believe that emotions, even though can’t be seen or touched, are the foundation of our humanity and our unique stories.
In my spare time I like to dance, read and learn new things. I love to paint, photograph beautiful moments, spend time with my beautiful family and create new traditions in the heart of Austin. Thank you for taking your time to visit and get to know me. Looking forward to serving you!
